Description and specific excellence

Tirreno Power emerged as the result of the liberalization of the Italian electricity market. The Company procured  the right to take over the third generation company Enel from the Energy and Gas Authority and on 29th January, 2003 became Tirreno Power SpA.

Today, Tirreno Power is one of the main producers of electricity in Italy and has a national presence, with Power Plants in Torrevaldaliga Sud, Vado Ligure and Napoli Levante, along with 17 hydroelectric power stations distributed over the Ligurian Appenines.

By adopting the most advanced production technologies available on the market, we are  able to achieve an increase in production capacity as well as a general reduction in emissions.

The company pays great attention to environmental parameters and has adopted an Environmental Management System that has allowed Vado Ligure, Torrevaldaliga Sud and Napoli Levante to achieve ISO 14001. This philosophy has also provided EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) with guarantees of research, innovation and excellence in environmental performance.

Tirreno Power policy considers the environment to be a key asset for its own development as well as that of the entire nation, and focuses on three lines of action:
• increasing production capacity through systems of high efficiency
• increasing its environmental competitiveness through a model of sustainable development ahead of the current regulations, and  with a view to continuous improvement
• integrating activities of the power stations with the needs of the Territory.
